THE HISTORY

In 1359, King Ludovic the Great's diplomas mention the donation to his sons of the "Pension Rykas" near Timişul Mic. Present in the tithe lists from the Vatican of the Catholic Church, the Rykas settlement is not mentioned, hence the presumption that the population was of the Orthodox religion.

In the same year 1359, with the approval of King Ludovic the Great, several Romanian, Orthodox Moldavian families are colonized, who receive plots of land and other privileges. From here we assume that some lands were also cultivated with vines, which today, replanted and carefully harvested, turned into a wine that presents special qualities, giving rise to the name Possessio Rykas.

Since 1470 there as been an Oppidum Rekas, a customs center which contained several localities, and today the name has been reborn out of passion for the history of the place, a rare wine name.

Grapes harvested from the southern exposure hills to the Bega Valley at an altitude of 168 m in a place called "AFTER WINEYARDS".
